Support System of a Residential Building, Eastern Styria (Austria)

Project overview:

Due to movements of the inclined terrain cracking of the residential building occurred. Since the opening of cracks and additional cracking increased within a short period of time, a support system for the house as summarised in the following was required urgently.

As a countermeasure an underpinning of the original foundation with the usage of micro piles and four permanent anchors was constructed in order to avoid further subsidence und to stop horizontal displacements of the buildung. The total construction costs of app. EUR 70.000 were mainly paid by the Austrian catastrophe fund for landslides.
